Text Got started with MAX/MSP/Jitter recently during Media Studies classes. As an easy to learn visual programming environment MAX is referred to be superb for sound editing including custom-made synths and algorithmic composition tools. Moreover, the developer holds a music label devoted to works by artists using their software.
However, we were running in some serious performance issues during working on the final course assignments including heavy visual operations. Due to the nature of visual programming environments our team experienced loads of data being processes behind the glossy interface, resulting in slow-downs and performance bottle-necks. Therefore, I should extend my P55 explorations, for being able to use code tackling computing resources directly.
Check out the video for the first small experiment in MAX/MSP.
